Ambassador Chandra Kumar Ghimire Highlights NGO Contributions and Calls for Continued UK Support at BRANNGO Annual Conference

His Excellency Mr. Chandra Kumar Ghimire delivered his statement at the Annual Conference of the Britain and Nepal NGO Network (BRANNGO) held in the Embassy premise in London today.

In his remarks, Ambassador underscored the crucial role played by the NGO sector in Nepal's social development. Sharing the success story of extreme poverty alleviation from Nepal during the first quarter of the present century, he appreciated the contribution made by the NGOs including the UK based INGOs.

Ambassador Ghimire also shed light on the outstanding challenges posed to Nepal by the imminent LDC graduation by 2026, the accomplishment of the SDGs by 2030 and stressed on the need of a more constructive, greater and sustained support by the UK based INGOs in  development initiatives undertaken by the Government of Nepal.
