PRESS RELEASE
His Excellency Mr. Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom, presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III today amidst a special ceremony held at Buckingham Palace in London. Receiving the Letters of Credence, His Majesty the King heartily congratulated Ambassador Ghimire on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure.
During the audience with His Majesty the King following the presentation of the Letters, Ambassador Mr. Ghimire conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the Right Honourable Mr. Ram Chandra Paudel, President, and the Right Honourable Mr. K P Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal, for personal wellbeing of His Majesty the King and for the continued prosperity of the friendly people of the United Kingdom.
His Majesty stated that the United Kingdom and Nepal have cherished ever friendly and mutually rewarding relations since the two countries commenced diplomatic relations. Also, the King expressed that his government has given priority to accelerating Nepal's development endeavours. He recalled his historic visits to Nepal undertaken at various times.
Affirming happiness over the unwavering friendship between Nepal and the United Kingdom spanning over two centuries, H. E. Ghimire thanked the Government of the United Kingdom for its continuous support in socio-economic development of Nepal.
Ambassador Mr. Ghimire was accompanied to the Credential Ceremony by his spouse Mrs. Sarita Neupane Ghimire and senior diplomats from the Embassy.
The Embassy has arranged the vin d'honneur, a reception at its premises tomorrow evening in celebration of the presentation of the Credentials by the Ambassador.
Mr. Ghimire is the 23rd Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom after the establishment of Nepal's legation in London in 1934.
