The Embassy organized ‘One Child, One Plant: A Day at the Nepal Embassy’ program, at its premises, today.

Welcoming the children to the Embassy, Chargé d’affaires a.i. Bipin Duwadi emphasized that the program was mainly designed to foster a sense of belongingness among children born and raised in the UK to their motherland Nepal. He further said that the program would help build a deep sense of attachment  and connection among school children aged between 5 and 15 to their root, the glorious history of Nepal and its cultural heritage in addition to increasing environmental awareness. 

The event began with children chanting ‘Omkar’,  Ganesh Bandana, Saraswoti Bandana, and the Gayatri Mantra, followed by the national anthem of Nepal. Around 40 children participated in planting both perennial and seasonal flowers within the Embassy premises. Parents accompanying the children also actively engaged in the plantation activities, making the event a shared learning experience.

The program was attended by around one hundred participants, including children aged 5 to 15 years accompanied by their parents, as well as members of Nepali diaspora community from Bexley, Swindon, Basingstoke, and various parts of London.
